About a year ago I started with a Studiodeck which was a demo from the dealer . It had a lot of problems so returned it for the UD and I did notice quite a bit of difference as you would expect . After this I upgraded all my power cables in the system along with the two wall outlets and the RCA...

I have a Ultradeck with a Master tracker cartridge . Its about a year old and I am happy with it but a replacement will likely be required in a year or so . Has anyone compared this cartridge with the Hana SL which appears to be getting good reviews .

Very true but limited numbers . I keep the Duel as a backup in my work shop and play it once in a while as it has a lot of moving parts and belts that need to be kept in good working order .

I have an old Dual 505-2 turntable 1986 that still works with a reasonable cartridge and I am amazed at the resale price so I think it depends on the equipment . For most pieces the resale value as you note can be limited .

Forgot to welcome you to the forum , you are one long way away from North America . When you started to have problems with the drop did you notice any oil leaking from the piston in the cue lever ? I expect you would see it on the deck under the cue . Is the unit a new one , if it is I would...

Like Anthonyl said reach out to MOFI . I remember seeing in past threads issues associated with the cue lever fall and oil leaks on the deck . If I remember correctly there is a oil dampened piston that controls the fall rate and it has leaked in some cases .

Yes to add my two cents worth , my understanding is the same, easier to count from the end of the pin ie furthest from the post . This notch is number 4 . I agree wish MOFI would label the notches in the manual .

As I was closing the MOFI TT manual I noticed the following re cart. weights . Your cart. at 10.5 is a bit outside of the range they note . Others have used higher cart. weights apparently without any impacts . Kvetcha uses a soundsmith cart. with a weight of 12.2 I think .

I had the same experience regarding arm movement and I think I can remember others experiencing the same thing . The suggestion I understand is to listen to a range of material you know well and see if you hear a difference or just be happy with it on notch 4 depending on your desire to play...

The following is from the MOFI TT brochure. so at 10.5 g you would appear to be on notch 4 ie the notch furthest out on the pin as in your picture . You may also want to try notch 3 to see if you hear a difference . I have tried different notches and not heard a difference , but I think other...

Yes it can be confusing, when I asked Greg at MOFI about this , here is what he said . So based on this response , yes there are five notches , but the first one close to the post is not counted as it relates to anti skating. For me I start counting from the end of the pin which is notch 4...

As people are noting yes this is notch 4 but check cart. weight as it determines the correct notch to use , at least as a starting point as in the end use your ears to tweek if necessary .

A question about the picture , is this your current setup ? The string and black ring appear to connected to the post as designed . The only issue is the location on ring/notch 1 as opposed the second ring as suggested for the Studio Tracker stylus. In an email I received from MOFI they...

Go online and google tracking force gauge and all sorts of videos and links will come up explaining what to do and the the impact on the sound you hear . Like Kvetcha said , check your MOFI manual for the appropriate tracking force range .

Check back to around post 2105 for a discussion of the ring numbering . The first ring close to the post is not counted . Easier to start at the ring furthest out which is number 4 . You can play around with the location of the ring and use your ear to decide what works for you . Call or email...

Sounds like a good approach , getting the table level can at times be such a tedious thing as every tweak in one direction can result in the need for more ---never ending story . Let us know the final results once you get the table level .

Yes very close .I would also check it with other thickness of records as there can be quite a difference between the very thin ones and the 180 g . A lot of sites suggest that you use an average thickness record as a starting point and then use you ears as a guide
