Nothing is. But look at MOFI, Impex, AP, Music matters, Tone Poet, Speakers Corner, Classic, Sam, etc etc. etc. - all black. ORG does colored sometimes but they would no longer be considered a pure audiophile label.

It is purely collectability. The industry has learned that 'variants' increase sales. It's as simple as that. Although colored vinyl has greatly improved in the last few years, it is still inferior to black vinyl. If you want the music, IMO black vinyl is the gold standard. That's why...

LOL. Probably the one thing I didn't do back in the day.

    You can't fix stupid.

    The Beatles

I hope we're not becoming like SHF with hundreds of pages of needless Beatles shit. Now & Then is a Macca (aided by Ringo) concoction to promote Red & Blue, which otherwise wouldn't get the same level of unearned promotion as the remix albums. Nothing more, nothing less. Hey - I think Lennon...

This is a fabulous record. I know OG's are pricey, but well worth it. The BBE won't be analog and can't sound near as good as the superlative OG Victor. But otherwise, this album needs to be heard, even if it is BBE.

Holy shit - that is just fucking appaling.

    The Beatles

Yeah, you know, composers and musicians have all sorts of snippets, lyrical and musical notes, drafts and other droppings all over the place. Some they develop, some they discard, some they figure were shit to start and not worth spending more time on. Occasionally, there may be something...

    The Beatles

True. I find the song ok, but far from great. Maudlin, repetitive, lyrically fluff. A bit Vegas-y in production, strings, harmonies, etc., but at the same time, I suppose it needs all the sauces and toppings possible to hide the bland flavor underneath.

Chad's idea of more modern is 1970's. MOFI - maybe some, but it's hard to sell something recorded ProTools 16/44 as audiophile.

If Chad can get the licence - a very big if - he has the Classic plates at 33 and 45 rpm that will be used. Even if he were to get a licence, no chance he will get tapes.

    The Beatles

The Beatles have been huge for me, since as a kid my bedroom window faced the teenage girl next door who, as they all did, idolized The Beatles and rushed to the record store every release day, and I heard them through the open windows constantly. But I'll pass. Rubber Soul is coming next year...

    The Beatles

Exactly. At the time of the Anthology trilogy, Yoko gave the threetles some cassettes of unfinish, incomplete John Demos. They were obviously poor quality and not even full songs, just audio working notes. They did Free As A Bird, with Macca adding verses, since really, John had none. They did...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

The problem is, once they get you hooked on $5 more for a nicer jacket, they will go back to the lesser one and still charge $5 more.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Right, there is not. Amazon have already done that, with Chad holding the audiophile part close to some extent. I suspect that, although VC funded, VMP has to turn a profit. But the Anthology series looks like a marquee product intended to boost the brand, and as such intended to sell steady...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

IMO how it works is the Amazon model, also used by Facebook, Google, Spotify et.al. - start off cheap, losing money. Force everyone else out of business while losing tons because, unlike competitors with shareholders and lenders, you have deep pockets and oligarchs who will sink in all the money...

That's the one (of two) that I have. Very good. "better cuts" - don't know what you mean. This is a better cut.

The earlier AP 45 was cut by Grey and so is this one, making it likely knowing Chad they are using the same plates, although the addition of 'bonus' tracks may necessitate a revisit. The bonus tracks, no doubt added because there really would be no difference to the earlier AP and Chad wants to...

Strangely, the best Dusty In Memphis I have heard is the Abbey Road half speed. I also have the Rhino Bellman, which is fine, but sounds quite subdued. The earlier AP 45 has great tone and definition, but sounds rolled off and bloated, though some may like it's politeness.
