He can spend time answering emails or shipping records. I prefer shipping records. Emailing won't make it faster. Mine haven't shipped yet. I'm not bugging him. I've managed to live half a century without them. A bit more isn't an issue.

The TP has slightly different EQ. Not better, not worse. Slightly different. Same tape. Same mastering chain.

It can't be a Tone Poet if the Tone Poet wasn't involved, can it?

Besides, 16 felonies qualifies him to be President.

Considering the music, it is worth the price and more. This record has always been somewhat overlooked - Ballads, ALS, VV and Birdland get more attention. And BTW, very sadly, Birdland went up in smoke - including all the unreleased material. But it is just a perfect record, start to finish...

Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

They go to the VMP warehouse and from there would go to any distributor. If GZ were capable of splitting an order and drop shipping (which I don't think they do), that would make things far too complicated for the dolts at VMP.

Doesn't matter to me. Nothing VMP does is of interest to me anymore. Might be interested in Budos Band, if they make it to May (but it will probably be delayed until 2027). That's it. More concerned about Canada imposing a 25% retaliatory tariff on the formerly democratic U.S. - that will bump...

Record cleaning - what's your method?

If you are using some type of gel or sticky substance, your stylus might be gunked up and sticky, and so picking up and accumulating dust a lot.

Record cleaning - what's your method?

You can never eliminate dust. Your skin produces an amazing amount through continual flaking. For the most part, unless extreme, dust doesn't affect vinyl playback. The stylus just pushes it out of the way. Just look at a record under strong direct sunlight. Loads of dust even right after...

Record cleaning - what's your method?

Better question - is there an air purifier in the room? The whole purpose of a good air purifier is to keep particles out of the air. Gels on a stylus are terrible. More harm than good. Fluids, unless an insane amount is poured into the cartidge, can't harm cartridge internals. Generally...

Actually, you are right. He is a big part of the reason. Back when AP did a short Impulse 45 series, it was announced as a SH/KG project. But when Universal saw Hoffman's name, they threatened to cancel unless he was removed. At one point, further killing any relationship, he stated on his...

VMP is no different than MOFI - neither get Sony owned tapes. Nobody does. VMP has done plenty of Sony in recent times, such as the Miles set done from 1-1 master tape copies. MOFI prefer to do DSD transfers, which are done at the Sony facility. DSD transfers are much cheaper than tape copies...

    Definitive Audiophile pressings

SH is not a mastering engineer. In the digital domain, he is simply an EQ adjuster. In vinyl, he is at best an EQ 'consultant' who must work with an actual engineer. He is indeed an arrogant douche. The SHF is the place where joy in music goes to die. Hoffman was first caught stealing Buddy...

    Definitive Audiophile pressings

TP's are, for the most part, intended as a check on plating before those plates go into production. Generally, they aren't used for sonic evaluations, although MM did send out TP's for evaluation of sound ( I know, I was one who got MM TP's) and - not common to other audiophile labels - would...

Level table, proper anti-skate setup, alignment etc. all make ahuge difference. My Pictures of Heath (not a favorite album anyways) plays perfect. I'm sure a lot of the online commentators, like on Discogs, haven't even got their turntable level.

Why the assumption that this is in the 'artisan' series? Has that been stated? Hope they are not.

VNYL is an even worse horror show with an even lower expected lifespan.

You are not wrong. This is simply a sham, a new twist to get you to pay for records they can't move. VMP is rapidly moving into ponzi territory.
