    Neil Young

Took a while to sell, but I just sold my Sleeps With Angels OG for the same amount I paid for the last boxset so I'm feeling happy. I somehow don't have any of the other 3 so this feels like an essential purchase to me when it comes out...

    February 2025 Spin Challenge

Day 7 - National Wear Red Day Etoile de Dakar - Xalis One of the all-time great (west) African records. Featuring a young Youssou N'Dour.

Day 6 - National Frozen Yogurt Day Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes So it's definitely not Led Zep, but it's still mighty fine. Spun in honour of the 6 LP beast on its way...

    Upcoming/Recent Shows

I saw Mammal Hands the other night. 2025 off to a great start with gigs for me - they are quite probably my favourite UK jazz band of recent times. Love the interplay of piano, sax and drums.

Day 5 - National Weatherperson's Day Crowded House - The Very Very Best Of I'll take an obvious one.

Spin The Black Circle - The Pearl Jam Thread

I have the 2011 EU reissue and it also sounds good to me

    February 2025 Spin Challenge

Day 3 - National Golden Retriever Day Nirvana - Nevermind Not sure I'm going to play all 10 LPs today but love the live records off this (and of course the original album, which, as a cliché, reminds me of my own teenage angst and somehow playing Territorial Pissings in the car with my parents).

    February 2025 Spin Challenge

Day 2 - Groundhog Day The Beatles - Live at the Star Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962 Nearly entirely cover versions. Fascinating picture of the Beatles just before fame hits, and a surprisingly decent bootleg. Continuing my jag on recent Japanese pressings I've picked up.

    What's Spinning

Roy Harper - Stormcock Another spectacular record from Secret Santa aka @ByersVinyl. This is going down particularly well on a Sunday morning while making marmalade.

    February 2025 Spin Challenge

Day 1 - Black History Month Miles Davis - 1958 Miles It's hard to express how much I love Miles. I think I'd happily give up all my other jazz records just to have his (it probably helps I have 70 of his records). This is one of my favourite (it's about to be reissued more or less as Birth Of...

    What's Spinning

Oh yes. They played at the Munch museum here last year. I probably prefer JBL's compositions but it's a fine group

    Best Music 🎵 of 2025!

Really enjoying this album from Mary Chapin Carpenter, Julie Fowlis and Karine Polwart. Gentle and beautiful, good mix of their styles.

New ultrasonic vinyl cleaner in the works: Humminguru

Having done this a few years ago, I decided recently I'd try to do this at the start of each decade. Not sure how many I've got left but seemed like a decent way of listening to everything at least several more times...

The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

I was going to say this too. Can't get enough of that show. Would like some more live REM on wax. Lifes Rich Pageant my favourite too. Think this would be top 5 along with Murmur, New Adventures and maybe Reckoning.
