I bagged their groceries once before a concert in Green Bay haha! So much fancy cheese and not much else.

Anyone have info on the 2lp pressing of It Takes a Nation? Looks like a reissue for the 35th anniversary. It’s the first time on two records if I’m not mistaken? PRE-ORDER: Public Enemy "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back

    Record Store Day 2023

Oh dang! Same! That’s a really good Meat Puppets album. Probably their best in the 90’s.

That fair. I think this would be an awesome Classics pick if VMP did it in mono.

Maybe we will get a definitive version of Robyn’s Body Talk! It’ll be interesting to see what records they do reissue though. So many different types of music throughout the years.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard the mono? I’m assuming it’s a dedicated cut. Not sure what Fania’s recording setup was like but I must say, the stereo version I have is really really good. Hopefully VMP beats it. Ray Barretto - Acid

The Funhouse - The Punks are all right

I’m really not a fan of Sorry Ma but everything else is great to amazing for me. Let It Be is generally considered their defining album. If you don’t like that, you might like the later, more alt rock focused album of PTMM. If you don’t like either of those then they’re not for you! My wife...

    Wilco (The Thread)

Just spinning Cousin right now. It sounds absolutely fantastic (Bellman cut again, I think this may have been the last record Bob Ludwig mastered too, btw). I dig it so far but will definitely have to listen to it a few more times.

Which is funny since the Bowie mix is the standard mix and the one I was only familiar with until I bought the RSD release that had both the Bowie and Iggy mixes. I like the Bowie mix too but agree that the RKS version of the Iggy mix is the best we are going to get.

I think it would be damn near impossible to make that record sound anything less than stellar. OGs sound great and can be found for cheap.

I had the exact same thoughts about the VMP vs Record Store Day versions. Ryan Smith nailed it. The VMP is the best version of the Iggy Mix for sure.

    Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I’m probably in for all three essentials and country (maybe not sweet revenge). The other tracks don’t do much for me unfortunately. Might hop in and snag ZZ Top. Looks like it is indeed AAA. I’m not sure if that was confirmed before or not.

That’s a good Ray Charles album but what’s the reason they picked it? Same with Sextant. Both great but probably should have been in the Classics track imo. Acid is a great essentials pick imo though.

    Vinyl Me Please Country

All good but I also happen to love Bobbie Gentry and Dusty Springfield. At any rate, this album is awesome. She was one of (the?) first major female country artist to write snd produce her own music. She had this awesome bluesy, jazzy, R&B tinge to her stuff too. Great singer and guitar player...

Big question is when will Mode For Joe get the Tone Poet or Classics reissue? It’s such a great album.
