True, but anything Coltrane usually sells pretty good.

I have had an OG and that definitely didn’t sound as good as the half speed so I got rid of it. Can’t hurt to clean it up and spin it though!

But then you’d have to listen to two versions of Ascension and try to decipher the difference in cacophony

I got the MoFi super vinyl of Bridge Over Troubled Water and it sounds really great. So clean and such a wide soundstage. I will say, I really don’t play the album too too much and have a copy of the half-speed master from the mid 80’s. I threw the half speed on for the heck of it after I played...

Southern Nights is such a fantastic album! I have an OG that sounds great but an AAA reissue will definitely get me to bite. Toussaint’s original version of the song “Southern Nights” is very different and captures the essence of the subject matter compared to the Glen Campbell smash hit. Meters...

The first Alvvays album does sound pretty crappy on any source I’ve heard it so hopefully BG can make it sound good on wax.

I mostly have a hodgepodge of different pressings but almost all are US first or early pressings and I’ve never felt a big need to upgrade. I also have a UK first pressing of Station to Station that is awesome and a 40th anniversary cut of Ziggy Stardust that’s stellar.

I don’t know why but this is the only Bowie I don’t have from his 70’s run. I need to change that. Are the US cuts worthy?

The whole Little Feat reissue campaign has been marred with what looks to be terrible pressings. Can anyone confirm that? I’d really like to get the expanded versions of Dixie Chicken and Sailin Shoes but I’ll be content with my OG copies if it’s not worth it.

Very very off topic, but I just bought Marvin Gaye’s Live at the London Palladium. First off, great sounding live album. Second, sides one and three are pressed on disc 1 and two and four on disc 2. I’ve never seen that before (I’ve had plenty of auto-coupled discs with 1 and 4 on disc 1 and 2/3...

Ry Cooder’s Paradise and Lunch seems like a logical hifi choice too. Pretty awesome record.

Yeah OG or early pressings are the way to go. I have the OG UK pressing and the first US reissue on Qwest. I want to say that the UK is a little better but my copy is more noisy compared to the US.

Ha! Yep sorry for saying literally the same thing.

Only reason I even did a double take was because he mentioned What a Wonderful World and then said 1956… Louis didn’t record that song until 1967.

Was Storf high when he wrote the description for the Louis Armstrong album? Just saw it in my email and I might get the album but his description is off by like 12 years haha! This recording happened in 1968 unless I’m completely missing something.

    Vinyl Me, Please Rock

That’s pretty much how the album has always sounded really. Not much in the midrange and the songs sound a little tame. I’ve had original pressings as well as the record store day reissue from awhile back. None have sounded great. It needs to be cranked but it’s not the best sounding record even...
