I don't have a unipivot either, but from the feedback I've read on the VPI FB group, a lot of folks don't actually end up prefering the 3D wand. It's definitely a slightly darker and more dampened kind of presentation, and from what I understand, the magic of the unipivot is how alive it is...

It does. Unfortunately the previous OJC release was quite bright and really exacerbated that upper mid crunch. This one is my primary driver for going out for RSD this year.

Ouch! They definitely used to clock in about half, which is standard. I've also gotten reasonable offers from them on larger buys, keep in mind this was all pre pandemic. Staying in the 'hood can't be easy.

Thanks for all the great replies on this one, everybody. Lucky to have a small mom & pop (well, just pop - it's literally one guy!) used hifi shop literally right around the corner from me, very reasonable and honest to boot. May just have to swing by to see if he has any SACD players in stock.

Ya, that’s the other thing. A good chunk of those SACD titles are bound to be MoFi, not a whole lot more for the record, and you’re getting the DSD file there anyway! Hahaha

Totally. I don't do CDs. With hi res PCM so readily available, I just don't have an interest. If a conventional computer could play a DSD file, I definitely wouldn't be enertaining this!

Not sure a version exists of those Oasis records that aren't pinned to the red!
