Surely VMP isn’t dumb enough to put out a code meant for a very specific group of people without some sort of verification step that’s easily attained…. I mean do they know how the internet works? People are not going to follow those rules. Not saying I’m condoning it, but information like that...

Yes it does…just got miles for $220 shipped.

I didn’t notice any harshness on the vocals, more just that it doesn’t sound like they’re singing directly into a microphone (it’s more like they’re singing in the room while playing instruments, which they were, and mics are picking that up).

I think it’s worth it, if you dig the album. The packaging and pressing was fantastic. They did a great job with the mastering, too. Just don’t expect an audiophile vocal experience from the original recording. Instruments sound exceptional.

Only one I’m in for, and it’s a “first.” Likely a very light haul for me this year, which is welcomed. That record is great, though! Always excited for more Grisman.

Reggae is severely underrated by VMP. So many great sounding reggae albums that would be perfect for a VMP release.

It’s actually very fun, was hesitant but am glad I went with it.

Between AP, VMP, stand-alone releases, it’ll be 90 total it seems.

Yeah, and even some like the Prine albums have been done so well by the best in the biz, and can be had for less than $20.

That’s the title I’m most excited about. Not too many that are must haves for me in there, but that’s #1. He also hinted at working on getting Zeppelin, but obviously a bigger mountain to climb.

I mean I wouldn’t, and I don’t think most here would. It’s a label that’s not easy to find clean copies of, Barretto and Colon included. Certainly in need of high quality reissues and they’ve done a great job. Don’t think that lacks imagination at all, and IMO is quite bold.

The Tico/Fania reissues are phenomenal and should be the standard for 1LPs these days. Strong tip ons, AAA by a top dog, straight from the source. Don’t know what you mean by “imagination runs dry.” They’re extremely well done and criminally neglected.

Cyro is the best, what a fun guy/performer he is. Have never seen him “solo” but will have to keep an eye on that.
