I Discogs-order mine, even though I hate it. Literally every day I think about reordering things (but never by genre).

Discogs alphabetical for easiest access. Genre is too subjective and can split artists up based on style shifts between albums

Ugh...decisions decisions but I need to make room for my growing dead collection

I do wish Discogs could let you modify arrangement. I hate alpha by first name, but when you get to a certain number of albums being able to locate one becomes the higher priority. In my perfect world it’d would go alpha by last name, then chronologically by album, and soundtracks would be separated out from other various artist titles.

I am surprised there hasn't been a Papal Bull written about this.

For me its by genre of my own design but it actually make sense and works for me. Within that, alphabetical by band or artists last name. In chronological order, live albums after studio albums, then followed by compilation albums.
