It goes....

“There are many creases on the album and a bunch of dings. I am not satisfied at all with the product. It is at best VG+ and I will send you scans so you can see what I mean if you don’t know already. This is nowhere close to being MINT.”

it continues....

“Please give me your email. I basically would like to return this album since I do not own or collect albums in such poor shape. I don’t even wish to negotiate for this album. It will be a return.

I hope we will not have any problems with this decision.”

I know what it looked like when I sent it. Any thoughts on how to handle this?

I'd just let him send you the scans, but affirm that it was NM as described when shipped.

Yeah, I gave her my email, just pissed by the tone. The only thing I can think of is it perhaps got a little roughed up by the USPS. Do I pay for return shipping?

That sucks. Also why I sometimes dislike selling records online. I never put mint on anything anymore and super conservatively grade them. I’ve been mostly lucky so far but have heard a lot of horror stories of friends selling expensive records online and having people complain.

I've taken to photographing the record at each stage now, before wrapping in bubble wrap, in bubble wrap, then finally in the mailer with the address and shipping label attached. I have had too many chancers in the past try to falsely claim things to get a refund.

One guy ages ago claimed that the record had a cut running down the back of the jacket, and he sent a photo showing it and I was able to show my photos to prove it was not like that when it shipped. I fully believe he cut it accidentally whilst opening the package. I asked for a photo of the mailer and he messaged straight away to say he had already disposed of it...
