When I lived in Seattle, and had multiple stores to sell to, I would go through the collection every January and pull out everything I didn’t play in the last year and question if I needed it or not. My one local doesn’t buy everything, so I haven’t really done it the last couple of years but I did sell some stuff for Xmas present money last month.

The downsizing is more of a clean I haven’t got to do in a few years. Actually looking at the collection closing in at 1k, made me kind of reevaluate my hobby. Not that I have been buying frivolously but, continuing my practice of buying off my wantlist only and ones that I WILL listen to.

I didn’t buy nearly as much as I did in 2019 as I did in 2018. 2019 was the start of my buying only what I wanted and not out of impulse. Which worked out very well. 2020 is me buying 90% of what’s on my wantlist and 10% what I will listen to/new stuff I like. So, some stuff will be sold, PIFd or let friends borrow and forget to ask for back.

@JonnyH LRS will be my last option for getting rid of records. I like making sure people here get what they want and various places on the interwebs. A few I sold today got me a MAJOR want that I have been eyeing for a couple years. And I want to keep going like that.

@Sanders its a very hard decision but, it feels good in a sort. I’m not quitting the game. Just lightening the load.
