According to Spotify, you didn't listen to any music at all until you joined their site...

I actually used Spotify A LOT during the first half of the decade, though it was always a free account. I never signed up for premium, so I'm wondering if that's the problem.

Ah that makes sense. For some reason I could never justify the $10-$15/month.

I definitely do justify it. I had almost 40k minutes this year. I think the app and curation is excellent, introduces me to so much, music at my fingertips constantly. No adds. Playlists. Skips allowed. Also I got my family all on their own accounts for 15 a month. 6 people music for 3.75 a week that's less than a coffee

Where do you play it through, though? I used Spotify a lot when I was in school glued to my laptop. Now I do all my music listening on vinyl and my receiver doesn't have Bluetooth technology, so I can't easily connect my iPhone to it. I guess I'm curious to know what kind of set up folks use for streaming.
