I gotta say, living without a car (somewhere where that's possible) is *mostly* amazing. After I moved back here from Asia a few years ago I was determined never to have a car again if possible.
I do like the independence of having a vehicle, but they're so expensive now since they are basically big computers on wheels. Definitely don't have the mass transit type infrastructure in place to get by without one in my neck of the woods.
Wrenching on cars simply ain’t my thing. Plus, a lot of today’s expense is new tires, which I knew was coming up. Just have to bite the bullet sometimes.
Sell your car and buy an e-bike. You can always rent a car or use car sharing for longer trips. Check out Rad Power Bikes in Seattle. Just ordered two cargo bikes, and now my wife and I can transport our family of four without fossil fuels, shop for groceries, go bikepacking/camping, etc. Life changer.

@hatfieldpdx when you say cargo bikes do you mean the radwagon? Never heard of these folks but I am def interested (can't get rid of my car due to long commute but I will zip around town on one of these)
@TheMythOfSisyphus yes, I got the Radwagon, and a Radrunner (which can also handle a heavy load) for my wife. If you think you might pick one up, I can send over a referral code that would save you $50 (I think I would get a bit of credit too).

@hatfieldpdx Dope! I'll keep that in mind. I literally just found out about em from reading your post so I'm nowhere close to buying if I do. But I'm gonna read up on 'em 'cause they look cool
@GritNGlitter we moved into the hills, so it was an easy choice for us. I should also mention that they have a deal where you can save $200 if you buy two (which is what we did). Just find a friend who also wants one! Or, I can send you a referral code to save $50.
