Dirty Mind sounds so dated but I don't really mean that as a criticism. It's such a great time capsule of the progression of the Prince sound. Top tier Prince IMO

It’s shit hot for a demo though (which is what he intended and Warner’s thought just release it as is). The bass and drum sound of Dirty mind with the telecaster sounding clean became the sound of pop music shortly after Dirty Mind. By which stage Prince had already moved on
