And this is a brick and mortar store that's been in the vinyl business for like 50 years. I don't even know where to start... I guess the first step will be NOT buying this boxset from them.
There are too many pressing problems, sandpaper paper sleeves that scratch vinyl, poorly shipped items, warps etc... That for a store to claim that a record won't be scratched warped etc, simply because it's sealed is laughable... This isn't a private seller, this is an actual store....
Man, sealed has never meant mint since like the beginning of the Goldmine Standard. A shop should know that. You want to assume VG, ok. But never mint. That’s the second most common error I see, behind the rule about stamped promos (can never be considered mint).
I know. I'm annoyed. Because they have The Kinks box up for 179 CAD which is like 50 bucks cheaper than anywhere else up here... But considering it's pressed at Rainbo and there's 10 discs I don't think I can take that chance...
You should automatically have a right to refund if it's not fit for purpose once you opened it regardless of whether its sealed or not. I've had issues with many a sealed item and still brought them back arguing : how the hell was I or you supposed to know without opening it.
I would even buy it, open it on front of them and check it, ask if they can play it too maybe but still sometimes it's best to check at home obviously. I say buy it. Shouldnt affect your rights either way
