I'd try to avoid any form of surface turntable/speaker cohabitation if possible.

You need to isolate one of the items one of a few different ways. Otherwise that speaker is going to send vibration through the surface, which your table is going to pick up, the stylus reads and sends back through (you guessed it) the speaker.

If ikea made a 1x2 Kallax this would be avoided. Now I gotta figure out what to do.

And they apparently make 1x2 only in Europe

Get yourself a 1/4” slab of rubber to stick under the speaker. Trim it to fit the footprint of your speaker. If you have any left, ou can put some under the table or the feet of the table (just make sure you keep the table level). Also make sure the front edge of the speakers is further forward than the TT.

Thanks. Maybe I'll save a couple hundred to have someone ship it from the UK. Or I'll just use speaker stands idk.

If you want to isolate effectively on the cheap get one of these

Flip it so the grooves are on the bottom

And you should be ok. If you have space for speaker stands though that’s always going to be the ideal.

I have the foam speaker pads and I vouch that they work good
