At this point, yes. I’m trying to be more intentional with what comes in. I’m not pre-ordering blind anymore for special variants or just albums I might like or if there is a deal. If it’s a fave artist that is consistent, that’s different.
So in short, I want a leaner collection that I could look at any record and want to listen to it at any time and all the records will be listened to more regularly. Because records are for listening, not sitting on a shelf taking up space or as an investment.
I felt the same way when I started seeking stuff for the move, in glad people who would give the vinyl a good listen get a chance to cherish the record rather then having it sit on my shelf collecting dust
I think it depends on the type of sentimental value. I’m unloading some of the records I bought in the first few years of collecting that are real finds now. Some don’t get much money but they were the foundation of my collection. I remember the day I found them and my feelings and now that’s good enough for me as they go out the door.
