I'll just say the honeymoon is over for me.

I hated needing to have a reliable wifi signal to spin records. That and system updates. Some major bull.

But if you have a discount....

Can you use that discount on others?

No. No way to really share it. I get 15% off though.

I think @Heath might use a setup like that?

You can’t connect a turntable directly to those new Ikea lamp/speaker things. They don’t have an audio input. If you also buy the sonos connect you connect the turntable to it and then it streams to those speakers. I wouldn’t be a fan on the idea of digitising and then multi room streaming of audio coming out of a turntable.

I guess the multi-room audio would be the selling point for me ... We have that now with our Echos. We can stream Spotify and Sirius to any or all of the rooms in our apartment and I've wanted to do something similar with the turntable.

With the tt connected to this fella then you can to sonos speakers. For me the drop in quality and the fact I sit to listen to vinyl critically makes it uninteresting.

For background music in the bedroom/study/wherever I’m happy to use digital files or streaming. The quality of your WiFi or connecting everything to Ethernet will go a long way to determining how well it works.

I have a Sonos multi-room system with a turntable and it sounds fine and is practical especially for dinners and parties (you do need a strong Wi-Fi though). However, I do have another all-analog setup for serious attentive listening.

I am indeed all up in the Sonos ecosystem. I am a big fan overall, but the criticism about wifi strength is valid.

These are actually selling very fast. My Ikea store is almost sold out already. People are buying them 4 at a time.
