Just run it overnight. Modern ones have smart functionality so you can program it.

Meh… mine is modern but no programming. I normally run it overnight. Just I had to take my sink drain apart tonight and wanted to make sure it wasn’t leaking… so you know and hour and half in I was like “it didn’t used to be like this”

The thing that I don't totally understand is that mine has an 'auto' cycle that takes about 2 and a half hours, and a 'fast' cycle that takes one hour, but also an 'eco' cycle. Now you'd maybe assume that 'eco' would take even longer than auto perhaps? but no, it's right in the middle, about an hour and a half to two hours. so what's the benefit of auto over eco? is there one?

I have soak setting that I used one time. We put the dishes in the dishwasher and started. Went to bed. 7 hours later the damn thing was still running.
