I have Apple since switching from Spotify last year, and I've been trying out Tidal the last three months to compare. There are enough gaps in their library that it bugs me. For $5 a month with the Third Man Vault discount it's not bad, but I don't think it's worth full price compared to Apple which I'm happier with then Spotify.

I tried it out and did some comparisons to Apple Music and I think Apple is still much better. The interface is kinda cool though.

It's great. Also they pay musicians better than most other streaming services.

@JonnyH yeah that’s the main reason I’m looking at them. I’ll need to look at their library though and see if there’s any major gaps for me.

I switched to Tidal more than a year ago and I have no regrets! Like @JonnyH mentioned it pays artists one of the highest rates per stream...

I use Tidal high res, I find the app annoying but the sound quality is incredible and they have recently updated to include the actual streaming bitrates etc. And they pay the artists. Gives proper high res over wifi as opposed to Apple which can't. I like. But it's expensive for high res.

@Mather if by high res you mean HiFi Plus, I'm subscribed to that plan also and I love it even if it's a tad pricey!

Yeah that's the one. I think it's the only plan that includes the high res streams

I’ve been using Tidal for a little over a month and it’s fine. There have been a number of times that I’ve compared the same album with Apple Music and the Apple stream sounds better.

I’d recommend Qobuz over Tidal. Tidal had more gaps in the library for me

Qobuz here. I used tidal for about a year several years ago. It’s better than stupify. Apple will fulfill your need for a lack of holes. I haven’t noticed any gaping holes with Qobuz yet. The app is awesome. And it sounds so good over the hifi. I’m fairly certain that Qobuz is in the tops with artist pay as well.
