Echoing @zomgbear with Big Calm (I even got the CD signed by the band when they came through Montreal way back when), Felt Mountain and The Magnificient Tree - those were big ones for me in the "beyond Portishead, Tricky and Massive Attack" category.

If you like instrumental downtempo - you can't go wrong with anything late 90's to early 2000's Ninja Tune: Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Herbaliser, Wagon Christ

Kruder & Dorfmeister - K&D Sessions

Kosheen - Resist (This one is more Drum&Bass but you mentioned Lamb - they remind me of like a Sade fronted Lamb or something)
Frou Frou - Details
Cibo Matto - Stereo Type A or Viva! La Woman

In more recent Trip Hop, check out Daily Bread. I've been enjoying their recent "Invisible Cinema" (it's streaming only).

@zomgbear Yes Kruder & Dorfmeister for dubby instrumental stuff! And everything they did under other names like Peace Orchestra and Tosca.

And on that note, I'm spinning Felt Mountain.

@blenoxsmith me too, I've been checking in online but there really hasn't been much talk. But I don't think they're broken up or anything.

I could always take or leave most Chemical Brothers, but “Alive Alone” is a stone cold classic IMO

+1 for Peace Orchestra, although I spent too many late nights in college stoned out of my gourd reading theology and listening to “Who Am I” on repeat to ever want to revisit, myself.

@Indymisanthrope best thing the chems ever did was the mixtape Brothers Gonna Work It Out.

Gus Gus "Polydistortion" from 1997 is another classic Trip-Hop record to look into.

Lots of great stuff already mentioned.

You’ve got UNKLE - Psyence Fiction already, correct?

Also, perhaps:
Nujabes
Telefone Tel Aviv
Kid Loco
Groove Armada
Junior Boys
Simian Mobile Disco
Glass Candy

Actually I need them to repress that UNKLE. I tried to get it a while back but it was pretty much gone everywhere.

@Mather TTL has Unkle's Psyence Fiction here. They had it in an email blast about a month, I'm surprised it's still available. Not sure if it's a true 2023 repress, or they found copies of the older repress.

that repress sounds great! I recently grabbed it. I didn't think about it but yeah that album fits the vibe of downtempo / trip hop too.

@blenoxsmith thanks for the heads up! I can't order direct because they charge truly insane amounts for shipping (nearly $40 just in shipping costs) but maybe I'll do the old go between thing which usually saves a bit.

@TenderLovingKiller® thanks for the playlist! I don't actually have a Spotify account anymore but I'm pretty sure I can still play through it without a paid account. Cheers!
