Was not bad at all. It seemed a little like Disney Elliott Smith though, as that voice didn't quite carry Elliott's despair.

Yeah probably smart to go with a female vocalist. But that's just it. Elliott WAS his voice and his personal troubles. I don't think he's really "coverable" unless you go the Disney route.

I've mentioned it here before but I saw Elliott in Toronto on the XO tour in 99 and he was quite ill, but decided to still go on. So imagine the usual Elliott despair, then make him weak and physically ill and still performing. I think it took five years off my life.
