Well allowing for the fact that mute point isn’t actually a term just a mishearing of a lesser used and phonetically similar word, kinda. Mute would be silent. Moot isn’t necessarily that, it’s more no longer relevant, or only tangentially relevant or perhaps that developments or facts have overtaken the point.
