It's shame getting tickets for a concert (at a reasonable price) isn't even a given anymore. The last couple shows I tried to get tickets for at Merriweather in Maryland have been a shit show. Sold out in minutes except for "Official Rip Off Platinum Tickets" for $600.

yeah, i signed up for the "verified fan" thing, but I'm sure all the scalpers did too. as for pricing this announcement regarding this tour is very cool: THE CURE HAVE AGREED ALL TICKET PRICES, AND APART FROM A FEW HOLLYWOOD BOWL CHARITY SEATS, THERE WILL BE NO ‘PLATINUM’ OR ‘DYNAMICALLY PRICED’ TICKETS ON THIS TOUR

there are like three bands I'd pay too much money to see perform at a way too large venue for my tastes, but The Cure is one of them, so hopefully I get lucky next week

This whole verified fan thing freaks me out. Does that mean there won’t be presales?

The Ticketmaster listing for the Merriweather show doesn't list any pre-sales like it usually does. The only on sale date is for the Verified Fan Sale.

@mcherry i don't fully understand how it'll work either. sounds like verified fans will get some randomized order number/timing to then log in for tickets via a code. So while it's great that ticket prices might not be insane, it's gonna take some luck – given the demand – to get earliest access among the pool of verified fans

The only time I ever bought tickets that had Verified Fans was for U2 back in 2018. At that time you registered and if you were "chosen" you would get sent a link to buy tickets. Of course, a lot could have changed in 5 years.

Is this a situation where we activate the N&G community and see who here wants tickets for what show(s)? I’m not sure it says how many tickets a single person is allowed to buy though.
