Needles & Grooves

It’s a really well recorded album, so I’m stunned it can sound bad in this context. Is there some issue with EQ or somewhere in the chain?

I think the first tune just doesn’t sound well to me because of the way the vocals sound with my speaker placement.The speakers aren’t ideally positioned ( though based on the photos I’ve seen neither are many others) I have them far from the front wall but my listening position is too close to them.

Once the Christmas tree is gone I can put my room back and move my listening position further away from the speakers
