@Sonicpharmacist I've seen him perform once - at a radio station festival in LA in the late 80's (i'd imagine, memory is fuzzy but Eddie Money was the headliner(!) ). It was not good, as you can imagine.
@MikeH i truly don’t know what to think. The song title is awful, lyrics are trash, the music is by the numbers RHCP, the video is ridiculous, but idk, there’s something enjoyable about it. It may require repeat listens so I can wrap my head around it. And I do NOT like RHCP.
We thought it was like an AI generated a RHCP song after ingesting all of its discography. People are intrigued because it’s going back toward the style they were known for originally. I have a soft spot for Californication because it was so popular when I was a kid. The music vids were rad and songs were catchy. Haven’t enjoyed much since though
The year RHCP headlined Lollapalooza was the best one ever - I saw Lush, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Ice Cube, Soundgarden and Ministry, hit the road, stopped at a Wilco where I met Kim Thayil and Chris Cornell and pulled in the driveway about the time the Peppers were ending their set. I actually felt sorry for them having to follow Ministry. They destroyed.
