D9 in Cornelius has some solid brews, when I was there in June they had tons of non-IPA options (which I find nice when brewery hopping). I really like Sycamore in Charlotte, which was super busy when I was there.

You can drive up the road to my neck of the woods and hit Olde Hickory Tap Room. Death By Hops is delicious.

Burial and Fonta Flora are two breweries I always try to grab some beer from, from a store or otherwise. Especially fancy IPAs from Burial and funky sours from FF. Hard to get down here. Also love Sycamore.

@dhodo - Fona Flora may be a bit far (an hour) to get the thumbs up from the wife, although if we hit Olde Hickory Tap Room and FF in the same trip...will have to ponder on how to broach that idea.
