TPAB is exceptional but not a top 5 album. DS2 is maybe a top 100 but definitely not in the top 20. Beasties and Nas are waaay too low, both should be represented in the top 10.

Looks like I own 49 of these albums on wax/cassette.

I haven't brought myself to look at it yet, but my friend and former co-worker with whom I've had many intense and in-depth conversations about hip hop has been feeding me some hot takes and spoilers throughout the evening.

Particularly hilarious was his observation that The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill landed at #10 on the Albums list AND #10 on the hip hop list. Seems like dubious maths.

yeah, I am hesitant to call the list terrible as these types of lists tend to be highly subjective but it seems like it was more concerned with attempting to please everyone than actually building an authoritative list.

Doja Cat album at 136?? Should’ve been 132 That’s my only problem with the list though.
