I see where Björk got some of her influences from. This is fucking good.

I’m sorry FOR THE FIRST TIME???

Which album?

@kvetcha yeah, better late than never. Name any other of her contemporaries in that time period and I have heard them. Musical blind spot for me.

I saw some chatter about her music being used in Stranger Things and thought “maybe I should finally give her a listen.”

“Hounds of Love” right now, probably going to try out “The Dreaming” next 🎧

Hounds of Love is unimpeachable, especially the Ninth Wave suite on side B.

The Dreaming is my personal favorite of hers, but her late-period work, Aerial and 50 Words for Snow, is also great.

She’s a true pioneer for female singer-songwriters taking a dominant hand in their own production.

So excited for you! She is really one of the greats. Anyone else love The Red Shoes?

I recently re-listened to Sensual World which I had never really connected with, but now I just love it!

I still remember how I listened to her albums for the first time in 1997, so amazing and great ❤️

@Sonicpharmacist I also never connected with The Sensual World, maybe I should give it another go.

@McGlam I only listened to The Red Shoes somewhat recently and thought it was fun! Production’s sadly a bit tinny. Wild that was her last album for 12 years.

Profile post prompted me to listen to Kate Bush for the first time, too. I agree - 😱

Here is a good documentary you might like to watch. Many do not know that David Gilmour was influential in getting her signed.
