Needles & Grooves

yea, not something i really play at all on my freetime, but still willing to keep in my collection. as a folktronica record, i would rather listen to this in a heart beat as opposed to something like… bon iver

It honestly sounds to me like an impeccably recorded session of someone playing around in a foley studio. I threw it on last night and I'm not sure I have an album with a bigger stage, the sounds were coming from absolutely everywhere. Above, behind, on the street outside my house... Very cool.

It was my initial reason for signing up for VMP in the first place. Also, if you haven’t explored their work any further, give Thought For Food a listen. IMO, it’s their best album overall.

I think The Books has more in common with Nicolas Jarr and Gastr Del Sol than Bon Iver.
