I hadn't listened to it for a number of years when I got it on vinyl a few years ago and man, it still holds up really well (as does Siamese Dream). It's always fun to discover an old album and still be able to really appreciate it.
If only they would re-press an official version now...I passed on it many years ago because I found the price too steep at the time (I think it was like 50-60 euros), kinda regret it today!
My SO was very Catholic growing up and was never really exposed modern music until she reached college and it’s fun to get her take on some of the music I loved growing up without the pretense of nostalgia.
She enjoyed Mellon Collie enough to buy me the vinyl box for my birthday several years back.
I've got the vinyl, but I still have the original double disc thicc boy CD jewel case. I spent hours as a teen staring at that lil brown book as I listened to BC's nasal whine. I've mentioned here before but my first concert was MCIS tour. My dad surprised me as a 12yr old. Fountains of Wayne opened at New Haven Coliseum (no longer exists). I was obsessed with them.
That makes sense, 9 years makes a big difference. My youngest brother is 33 and if it weren’t for me and my middle brother he wouldn’t of had that exposed to much 90s alternative either.
Enjoy the ride
