@Ponman2003 Need to get back there for to visit relatives and eat pizza. Unfortunately I heard my favorite basement pizza place had to close due to covid.
I had not heard of "Altoona style" and while it looks like hot garbage, I could picture either a 7 year old or a really stoned me making this and thinking it was delicious.
Honestly St. Louis style sounds worse to me, lol. Sorry @DJSJ. I helped open a few pizza places in my youth and I am generally of the "no such thing as bad pizza" camp. But I don't care for crackery crust, it sounds like when you cook a frozen pizza too long.
I like all kinds of pizza put I've always been partial to the Montreal-style I grew up with. Round pie, puffy outer crust but relatively thin main crust, served "all dressed" with tomato sauce, thin sliced pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and cheese on top. Comes out a little thicker than a NY style but not too much.
Jesus Altoona pizza?! Never heard of it and who knows it may taste good (tho I'm skeptical). But American cheese? Also it looks like a hot diaper mess.
You're welcome for this extremely upsetting culinary tidbit, everyone. The thing that really sets it over the edge for me is the uncooked ring of bell pepper on each slice.
