LOL! That is awesome! congrats! I probably had a dozen or so sellers cancel on me when I was looking for my copy. I would send them a message before paying asking them to confirm the run out but I finally found one. The other one I had a similar issue with was KPG cut of GBV Alien Lanes but I finally found that one too. Persistence pays off but I would go for luck any day.

There are RTI pressed copies of Slanted and Enchanted, Wowee Zowee, Brighten The Corners as well though they are cut by Sterling instead of KPG they all sound great as well. The toughest to get at a decent price right now is Brighten The Corners buts it’s a 4xLP deluxe edition so it’s worth a bit more anyhow.

I had a similar win for this album a few months ago too. I ordered a KPG 2010 United pressing and got the KPG 2007 RTI pressing. I was beyond happy with that score for C$26.

how can you tell the difference between the United and RTI? Is there a difference between the sound?

The United as a circled U in the deadwax, on top of the RTI numbers and KPG@ATM (they used the RTI plates). The RTI only has KPG@ATM plus the XXXXX.X(3) numbers. And my RTI came in the usual RTI cloudy plastic sleeve (assuming the united comes in a different inner sleeve).

The United has a different runout and is pressed on flimsier vinyl. The United pressing used the RTI plates (I think the RTI run out info is present but scratched out of the United , if I recall correctly) United pressing is fine for the most part but the RTI is completely silent. KPG RTI press is probably about as good as Crooked Rain Crooked Rain is gonna sound on wax.

cool, I don't recall seeing the U on mine, but I need to doublecheck.

Also, both have the OLE catalogue number.

You’d be able to tell by thickness alone, the RTI is a true 180g chunky boy.

Mine's weird... I talked about it with @jamieanderson1968 after I got it to try to suss it out. It didn't have the HQ180 sticker, but came in an RTI inner bag and didn't have the circled-U marking. It's on the lighter 180g side, more like 165-170g, but definitely not flimsy. It's almost like RTI did another run without any fanfare. Pressing is flawless too.

Also, I noticed on mine that printed label on my RTI was a shade or two darker than the label on my other copy.

Also, the the download code that comes with the RTI version was a bit different also, it is like a xeroxed copy on like a piece of regular white paper that looks like it was hastily cut.

So I think mine is RTI, but conflicting evidece. Cloudy inner sleeve, no “U” in the deadwax, but no download code, no “Pressed at RTI” hype sticker, and probably closer to 120g. But because there is no U in the deadwax, leaning toward RTI pressing.

Let me know how it sounds please! I’m not that hot on URP but the other details are nice.

@Sonicpharmacist I think you're right - this seems to be the listing for what I got. But how did they figure this was United? There are no United marks anywhere on the inner groove and the record comes in a RTI inner bag.

Also, the shape of the pressing rings don't look like United (the inner ring is more raised on United pressings). The shape of the pressing rings look more like RTI imo (like this one: Penrose Showcase: Vol. 1 (2021, Clear Vinyl, Vinyl)). I wonder if someone just transcribed info from another discog entry without verifying?
