I think they deliver now.

Ikea shipping can be very expensive, there was a lamp my wife wanted and shipping was as much as the lamp so my daughter went to Atlanta to get it (among other things). Not sure if they can do store transfer ?

Got a couch delivered from Ikea a few years ago and it took a month. Overall cheaper than buying elsewhere but at the time was a PITA. Delivery guys were nice, I remember it being a very hot day, I helped them load it in and offered them some seltzers

IKEA doesn't even ship here. The closest one for me is Houston.

Half day road trip to Ikea is not the craziest idea (if you feel safe and they have stock). Take requests from friends, etc. Wake up and get on the road early and arrive prior to opening, If the cafe is open have a cheap, yummy breakfast or brunch, hit the road and be home in the afternoon.
