This one @Hollywood and I think it was @Mather who was complaining about them, they’re a GZ offshoot I think.

@Joe Mac the quality of the source material is not great on this album. I'm not sure if there's a really good sounding press of that live Nina Simone.

@nolalady i haven’t actually cleaned or spun it yet to be honest, I just saw where it was pressed and that had me worried on its own lol! That’s a pity but it’s a good set and I did want it so as long as the pressing isn’t borked I can deal with the recording being a bit lo-fi!

Ah yes, the hilariously inaccurately named "Precision Record Pressing" a subsidiary of GZ. Just assume they have the same level of competence.

@nolalady I have the VMP press from years ago and it sounds pretty fantastic.

This is anecdotal (and maybe just a sample size issue?), but I haven't noticed the end-of-side repetitive static/click problem with PRP that often occurs with GZ-Czech stuff. PRP is a (small) step above GZ then? Just your run-of-the-mill average plant. But I actually have at least one stellar pressing from PRP: Dominique Fils-Aimé's 2nd LP.
