I came here fully expecting to talk about Tennis . Then I saw you were talking about the sport after expanding your status. I haven't really followed tennis as a sport since high school.
Damn, yeah, this is one of those situations where I should have definitely foreseen that confusion. Note to self: "Dammit Graham, know your surroundings"
@Sonicpharmacist Join the thread! Yeah, luckily I have multiple screens at my office and I subscribe to Tennis Channel Plus so normally I just throw up whatever tennis tournament is going on at the time on my third screen and have it on in the background.
One of my co workers is the biggest Federer fan, and she finally got to interview him and after like 15 years of thinking of all the things she wanted to say to him, the first thing she said was "I like your shoes."
Well...it was not great having a dual hatted landlord/roommate. But he LOVED tennis. Played on the reg (got him to play racquetball w me a few times). Federer was his dude
@Mather That is great. I love Federer. I'm like 70% Swiss so its hard for me not to be a fan of the biggest sports export the country has to offer. He at least seems like a friendly dude so I hope your friend had a good experience interviewing him once the awkwardness settled.
I work in sports TV so she interviews a tonne of people, but I believe he was very nice. He didn't laugh at her for nervously complimenting his Federer branded running shoes. So that's something.
