You want in DC or a little less expensive along the metro. Check out the town of Chevy Chase. There is a microtel there a couple of blocks from the metro and only a few stops into DC

Yeah, definitely take advantage of Metro access and stay in one of the suburbs. Much cheaper.

Bethesda is a good suburb option too. The Hyatt Regency is on top of the metro.
