Curious, what's his deal? Just over produced pop?

I disliked his work on Masseduction and I'm bummed that she brought him back for another go round.

This album is nothing like MASSEDUCTION so let's stop comparing the two despite his involvement

@Hollywood I'm actually just asking, I don't know what he's known for?
Hollywood
Hollywood
@Mather he's one of the most important producer in pop, known for his over-production

There's several songs here that sound terrible from a production standpoint imo. Pay Your Way in Pain is a mess, and it's crazy they went with that one as the first single.

It's interesting to hear other's opinions of what over-production is. I'm halfway through, and I actually really like the production. Just enough sonic sugar to make me listen for less obvious sounds. I'm curious what kind of things seem overproduced to you, besides the aforementioned Pay Your Way in Pain?

PYWiP, the title track and Baby Wants a Baby are the big offenders IMO. The more folksy and straightforward tracks are the album's best to me.

And don't get me wrong, I think the album's decent, and it may grow on me over time. I feel like if it was remixed and rearranged a bit, it would be a truly great record.

Not related to Jack’s production, but I am starting to be turned off by Annie’s pretentiousness.

Interesting, thanks! The more folky songs definitely surprised me, it's cool to hear her do something more stripped back on an acoustic, which I feel like I haven't heard her do since Oh My God, which was an Actor B-side.
