I've enjoyed this wave of new biritsh post punk for the most part, but the speak-singing heavily accented vocals have not been my fav.

Fair enough, I think the signer emulates David Byrne's spectacular vocal range, frantic yelps and occasional croon quite well. At times he even sounds like James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and that's not a bad thing

@ayayrawn yup! Same reason why I wasn’t big on that BCNR album, although I listened to it this week and liked it better a second time. Also Dry Cleaning are another that do the speak singing which gets tiring fast.

@Hollywood those were two influences that I thought of while listening too! Spot on at moments.

I went to listen to Squid but I think Spotify is playing a new Black Country New Road album instead. 😈
