@jamieanderson1968 You getting AZ as well? This was the first day it was available here for 45+ and I lucked into an appointment 2 hours before I went. I'm a bit anxious because of the potential side effect, but with the British variant running wild here, the calculation is a no brainer.

@jamieanderson1968 you need like a 14 gauge needle to get that sucked in there. @Turbo what side effect are you concerned about?

@Turbo, that side effect is about a 1 in 8 million chance and you'd have to be female. There really isn't anything to concern yourself about.

@Sonicpharmacist Just the VIPIT (is it the same acronym in english?) - the rare low platelet count clotting - but it looks to be 1:100,000-1:250,000. Real, but frankly much lower than the odds of getting COVID and then complications from that. Seems like the 7-20 days after is when you need to be aware.

@Mather I know... it's the irrational side that crops up.

I get it. But also, I just got the Astra Zenica myself, so you KNOW if anyone is going to get side effects, it's me. You'll be safe.

Good news is AZ seems to be working really well against the British variant, even after a single dose. The UK is seeing >80% efficiency 35 days after the single dose. Who knows about the other variants though...

@Mather You can't be more warped than you already are, can you?

@Turbo That is a very rare side effect, and consider this.....you’re getting a vaccine to prompt a response from your immune system. The risk of side effects of real, but they would be a million worse if you actually got infected with Covid. I’ve seen many people admitted to my hospital with clots associated with Covid infection, none from clots from the vaccine.

You worry too much...this is even less likely than the Canadiens missing the playoffs

You guys are awesome. So far so good this morning other than the sore arm, which is much worse than a flu shot, but no biggie.

I choose my Friday appointment in case I am feeling so-so on a Saturday. I find I get a bit nauseous after flu shots the next day. Can’t wait to hear what superpowers you develop.

I actually took a sick day today. Ironically, considering all the disease around, this happens to be the first dick day I take since lock down started March 2020. I feel I earned it.

***EDIT: I should edit that typo but it's too hilarious to remove. Damned "d" next to "s" on the keyboard.

I definitely feel groggy right now after mine last night. But all in all not too bad...

@Mather ... it just hit me like a ton of bricks around 11am. Light chills, fatigue and light headache. Already feel a bit better.

Yeah I'm the same right now. But I don't really expect this to last too long. It's not very bad, just feel tired and heavy headed.
