I'm a big Spoon fan but I'm not sure about this new song... Maybe it will grow on me.

@Bohnjaggs Definitely feels like a leftover track from some prior album recording session. It's okay, but, nothing special. I just feel like they are not really accomplishing much with this release. He cited "Standing On A Beach" and "Substance" as greatest hits albums he loves, but those are sprawling hits collections. This is not anywhere near those sets.

I don't need this as I is own most of their albums already but I think it's a good overview of the band's history for a low cost (only $15 on the band's store)

It's very slight. Nothing from "A Series of Sneaks", and none of their one off singles, comp or soundtrack songs. Not having 'Jonathan Fisk' & 'The Beast and Dragon, Adored' on there seems like a pretty big oversight. A lot of their songs are relatively short...why not pack a few more on there? It's a nice price, and a good intro to someone who has never listened to them before, but, nothing here to entice fans.

yeah, I'm sad not to see 'The Ghost of You Lingers' and 'I Ain't the One' on there. I do dig the cover on the physical release, though

Does the order of the tracks bother anybody else? I guess I can appreciate the idea of mixing it up a little, but my natural inclination is to want to hear the band's progression of sound over the course of their best songs in chronological order.

@Indymisanthrope I'm the exact opposite... Something I hate the most are greatest hits comps that are in chronological order. I'd much rather have it sequenced like this.

“Lines in the Suit” is a glaring omission IMO

Three - THREE - songs from 'They Want My Soul' is, uh, DUMB. It's not a bad record by any means but put 'Do You' on there and branch out a little sheesh

I like "They Want My Soul" a lot. Probably more than most out there, but my initial thought was that there were a lot of songs from that record. I'm glad 'Inside Out' made the cut, and 'Rent I Pay' was the first single if I remember correctly, so I guess I could see that one. I just would have liked to have seen more from their earlier records, and just a more extensive overview in general.

Their cover of The Cramps' 'TV Set', 'The Book I Write' from the "Stranger Than Fiction" soundtrack...maybe doing more of a "Best-Of" concept than a "Greatest Hits" deal. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get some type of more broad career spanning comp at some point down the road.

They Want My Soul is my favorite album of theirs, and the three tracks here are basically the radio hits. Sirius XMU played (still play) all three of those quite often. Also, "Inside Out" is the best Spoon song. Fight me. 😉
