Needles & Grooves

it seems to be the hot new thing with a lot of new bands. Some of it is VERY GOOD, some of it is boring.

There are bands I like here and there, shame and protomartyr for example, but not a lot of new being done with the genre.

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Last years Fontaines D.C. album along with Shame and Protomartyr are all very good but it's not reinventing the wheel. The last post-punk album I heard that I thought was groundbreaking was that Black Country, New Road album, but I didn't care for it. I think Preoccupations most recent album from 2019? was quite different and interesting. Stretched the genre in new ways.

Last good Post Punk record was Gang Of Four - Entertainment. Fight me.

Last good rock record was Led Zeppelin 4 fight me

Iceage, Protomartyr, Shame, Parquet Courts, and Girl Band are all pretty great IMO, and I love the New Country, Black Road album and looking forward to the Upcoming Squid album. I enjoy it as there isn’t a lot of angular and frenetic guitar bands right now.
