A rather pricey one from an up and coming band called Goose. She just stuck it in the mailer and not under the flaps so it slid back and forth. I even sent her this mailer with a record in it...smh...

bummer. this has happened to me a bunch too. lots of people are suddenly selling vinyl online with no idea on how to pack and most arrive damaged. (hell...even lots of people who HAVE mailed tons of vinyl don't know how to properly pack...)

I paid $200 for this record that was supposed to be mint. She did acknowledge a little damage on the cover but nothing to this extent. It was clearly damaged due to poor shipping. How much of a partial refund should I request?

Oh damn.... If I sent a $200 record in the mail, it would be double-bubble wrapped. Hard to say... how badly damaged? Just the sleeve? If it's down to VG, it should only be worth 25-50% of mint value. You'll have to talk that one through and provide photos. Maybe even return it. Really depends on the people. I'd feel so bad, I'd probably refund and let them keep it, but that's me.

This is why I’ve never sold a record online. I’m terrified of being THAT person.

@Turbo kind of hard to explain but I’ll try...it’s a 4 Lp set housed in a gatefold that comes with a 30 page photo book and poster and all of that is housed in a sleeve that’s open on both sides. The outer most sleeve got ripped about 3/4 and inch on the corner and the photo book kept sliding and hitting the tape so the spine lost ink pretty badly across the whole spine.
