@Yer Ol' Uncle D Are you saying there is an actual 8-track physical edition being sold for the new album? I'm confused. And slightly scared of the answer.
I get anachronism but who the heck owns an 8-track anymore? I still have a tape deck but last time I had an 8-track it was in a combo TT/Tuner/8-track. Of course...I see it for what it really is. A collectors item - a bauble. I doubt there is any expectation for it to be played.
@Tillman with everything being so instant and so much content out there now, people seem to make their minds up REAL quick about whether they like something or not and move onto whatever comes out next. i feel like a lot of people don't let music simmer much anymore! i like the track more and more with each listen.
@MikeH, not that I disagree but I liked it right away, and who knows I may like it less overtime, but I liked the sound. it has a filth to it, opposed to the colorful clean of Masseduction, that instantly hooked me and it has me excited to hear more.
@MikeH That's how I felt about the track too. I'm not a big St Vincent fan in any way, but I liked the funkiness of the track enough to play it again even though it's weird with all the shifts. It's a grower I think. @panino's comparison to Midnight Vulture is spot on... that LP was a departure at the time and very much of a grower for me. Interested to hear more from the record.
