My first thought was “why is that Paul McCartney album so popular now?” But then remembered we’re all still talking about Daft Punk

Bigger hot take: every single Daft Punk album is better than every McCartney solo record.

(I may be open to consider that some early solo McCartney is better than Human After All)

*does not include Wings or Beatles

You like them better =/= are better.
I mean, by what measure is a given album "better" than another of a totally different era and/or genre? To me, Daft Punk's stuff sounds like generic dance music grown in a corporate laboratory to sell shoes or personal electronics (which is why I didn't even know I knew a bunch of their work until yesterday), but that doesn't make it true.

(I'm not a big McCartney fan, just grouchy)

@GritNGlitter it's a hot take, which is just as valid as all yours, sorry.

(I'm grouchy too... I'm annoyed by all the disses against a band I like on the day we found out they are no more, so...)

@Turbo fair enough. I do like Daft Punk. But RAM, for me, is an album where their influences are worn on their sleeves so much to the point where I don't really know that they did anything new with it. I get why people like it. It's catchy and well-made, but it just made me want to listen to the artists that inspired them more than wanting to listen to RAM.

I didn't diss them until you provoked it 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😘 But yeah, I'm sorry you're bummed, it's sad to hear a favorite artist won't be putting out any more albums. You just stumbled into something that bugs me all the time here: Liking or not liking does not correlate with good or bad. ❤️
