You like them better =/= are better.
I mean, by what measure is a given album "better" than another of a totally different era and/or genre? To me, Daft Punk's stuff sounds like generic dance music grown in a corporate laboratory to sell shoes or personal electronics (which is why I didn't even know I knew a bunch of their work until yesterday), but that doesn't make it true.
@Turbo fair enough. I do like Daft Punk. But RAM, for me, is an album where their influences are worn on their sleeves so much to the point where I don't really know that they did anything new with it. I get why people like it. It's catchy and well-made, but it just made me want to listen to the artists that inspired them more than wanting to listen to RAM.
I didn't diss them until you provoked it But yeah, I'm sorry you're bummed, it's sad to hear a favorite artist won't be putting out any more albums. You just stumbled into something that bugs me all the time here: Liking or not liking does not correlate with good or bad.
