Jesus @NathanRicaud chill I spend all day at my desk drinking water, let me have something with some flavour when I’m chilling watching the footy or spinning in the evening! Sadly Heino 0.0% isn’t such a thing!
The craft beer revival in the states is making headway with 0.0’s now. There’s a brand called “Athletic Brewing” that is pretty decent. For now I just use them to cut my heavier ABV’s when I don’t want to be completely useless after a lunchtime beer.
The problem with craft is they’re overwhelminglyingly ales. Much the same as with the boozy ones too. There’s plenty of craft 0s here too but more often than not I want a refreshing pint of lager, not an ale.
I don't know a lot about beer making (I'm a cheap date - give me Miller or when I want to get fancy, Newcastle) but I wonder about the whole ale/lager thing for craft beers. A buddy of mine used to brew at home and only made ales 'cause he said lagers had to be brewed at a cooler temp and ales were less fussy. I wonder if that carries over to larger craft ops.
For home brewing certainly it’s a pig you need to cool them and then if you want to do it properly crash them which involves a bit of equipment. But if you miss out the crash step can be done in an old fridge in the garage, just doesn’t have the same level of clarity, still can taste good.
If you’re brewing for resale you’re going to have to have precise temperature control equipment to ensure consistency and for food safety and standards, can’t see it being an issue.
I think big hoppy IPAs are just in at the moment, which is fine, they have their place, they just aren’t as refreshing.
