I think that’s a lot more on the label and distributor than the retailer. Not a lot you can do if they tell you you’re getting X on an order and you get half that - or none.

Same, I got burned (not their fault, really like @Corycm said) and had to buy the record in question from a UK retailer at like a $20 markup. If it's a standard easily available indie release, I'll buy from them. If not, I'll buy from the band/label/bandcamp.

Some of this stuff really irks me. Like that Firewatcher’s Daughter they got shorted on, then popped up on the artist’s site like a month later (at a higher price). I get manufacturing is weird right now, but I feel like distro/retail is taking a lot of heat when it’s the label effing people over.

I ordered the indie exclusives of the first two Trampled By Turtles but it looks like they never got them. I had ordered the William Prince Gospel record and it is supposed to come out on Friday but it hasn't shipped yet. I always assumed the indie exclusives were a pretty safe bet for them to get.

Yep, I ordered an Elliot Smith album that they didn't get enough of to fulfill my order, but they did give me a discount code to buy the standard black version. That was cool of them.
