You mean you don't know how to make sure it was a fuse or how to try to fix what caused it to blow?

The fuse in the back looks fine, but I need to open it up and check the one inside (I think the 2230 has an internal). That said it was my wife’s grandfathers and I doubt it has ever been cleaned and serviced so I might just find someone locally who can give it a tune up. Hopefully that means it will be fine for another 45+ years.

Probably a good idea to replace the electrolytic caps if you want to hang on to it for a long time. That could be the culprit or some kind of short if it keeps blowing fuses. Hopefully you get it worked out!

In a COVID free world it would be easy to get is serviced but right now in lockdown it will take a little. But the Marantz is a tank, pretty sure it is straightforward fix.

Curious to hear how this turns out. Please update when you find a place to repair it and what the solution is. That's a pretty piece of equipment.

In the meantime, do you have a spare unit to use?

Sort of. I will use my Audioengine A5s, connect my Bluesound 2i to it. I have a small phono pre-amp I can also use as well with the A5s. Not an ideal setup at all but sadly it will have to do for the time being.

Power switches are common failure points with that series. My brother had a 2220 and the power switch failed. Here’s a suitable replacement for $8.
