Needles & Grooves

So bummed about this! It was such a cool spot too. My GF and I would go there every time we were in the city.

The venue was super cool. I got to see some really cool intimate shows there and tickets were usually $15 or something. Seems they might reopen somewhere else in the summer but will be curious to see where. I could walk there from my current apartment so that was always nice if I just wanted a bit of a walk on the weekend.

That's somewhat surprising to hear.

@djdavedk i wouldn't be surprised if they got a decent deal on rent elsewhere. They were completely closed for a large portion of last year because of COVID and being in that Williamsburg location could not have been cheap for them.

I'm sure rent is crazy there. Many record shops sold online to keep themselves afloat. I tried to assist them.

I did as well. I bought quite a lot there in the past few months, especially when they started doing ship to store again.

Oh damn, I had no idea! That was a great shop and cool venue but it was so hard to get to. Hopefully the new location is easier to access

@CAPacelli guess it depends where you’re coming from! Easily accessible by the L so pretty easy from Manhattan and parts or BK. Was only a few blocks off the L. No harder to get to than Music Hall of Williamsburg!
