Looking at who mastered it/where it was mastered and who the producer were are two good starts. Bob Ludwig mastered it so that’s probably part of why the vinyl is so dynamic. I’m sure Thom had a part in it too.

Bob Ludwig doing the master is a big part of it. I'm not sure how much "electronic" music you own but I do find with well recorded and pressed electronic music it can sound more effortlessly dynamic with the deep bass and various sounds than a lot of albums that feature mainly traditional instruments. I'm not sure who cut the lacquer on this one but that would also be a big part of it.

Interesting point on other electronica. My Com Truise, Chemical Brothers, Boards of Canada, and Ulrich Schnauss records also sound great. But really nothing compares to ANIMA - and it's often things like background vocals that feel so incredible present.
